The most attractive MTB tours around Bad Hofgastein begin in the center of town. Giving you plenty of opportunity to warm up, until you reach Angertal Ski Center, where the true action begins. Ride up the Fulseck, a popular mountain for skiers, or to the Amoser Hochalm. A challenging MTB tour from Dorfgastein over the mountains into neighboring Grossarltal Valley. The routes to friendly mountain huts are also quite beautiful, including the Kögerlalm and the Strohlehenalm. Hungry summiteers will love the delicious hut snacks served there. When you have had enough of the sweat on your brow and aching limbs, you might well head to the Alpentherme, a resort offering plenty of space to unwind, enjoy wellness, the sauna and SPA. Just a few meters from where you are staying, where our half-board guests are greeted by an exquisite 4-course dinner menu featuring traditional dishes in restaurant “DasFRANZ”.

The most popular mountain-bike trails in Bad Gastein lead up the Patschgstuhl and to the mid-station on the Graukogel. The starting point is next to the Raiffeisenkasse bank in Bad Gastein, then takes you along the Palfnerstraße in the direction of the Windischgrätzhöhe. From the bridge, turn right onto the Böckstein forest path. This will lead you in a series of switchbacks to above the tree line. There is no hut on the Patschgstuhl for refreshments, so this tour is only recommended for sportier bikers. The goal for this tour (rising some 400 vertical meters) is the Graukogel lift station and the Graukogelam.
